Boston Scott, a running back who spent most of his six-year NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, announced his retirement on October 30, 2024, via social media.[1][2]

Listed at 5-foot-6, Scott was selected by the Eagles in the sixth round (215th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft after playing college football at Louisiana Tech University, where he began as a walk-on at LSU before transferring.[3][4] He appeared in 75 games, making 12 starts, and recorded 1,271 rushing yards on 268 carries with five rushing touchdowns.[5]

Scott earned the nickname "Giants Killer" for strong performances against the New York Giants, including a 46-yard touchdown run in the Eagles' 31-15 wild-card playoff win over the Giants on January 21, 2022.[5][6] In Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023, he had three carries for two yards as the Eagles lost 38-35 to the Kansas City Chiefs.[5][7]

In his retirement statement, the 30-year-old Scott expressed mixed emotions, writing, "There is so much I’m proud of... There is anger, bitterness, but also joy, and happiness."[1] He credited coaches, teammates and staff for their support, adding, "I'm thankful for everything the game has given me and my family."[1]

Scott's last regular-season game was on January 7, 2024, when the Eagles defeated the Giants 27-10 at MetLife Stadium.[5] He signed to the Los Angeles Rams' practice squad on October 15, 2024, was released on October 22, and joined the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad but did not appear in any regular-season games for either team.[5][8]

Outside football, Scott works as a content creator with esports organization Dignitas.[9]
